Access Supports Local Homelessness Charity
18 December 2017We recently ran #UKCharityWeek in our Croydon office, with staff putting on a series of events and activities to raise funds.
Our staff chose Croydon Nightwatch as the charity we would support this year. Croydon Nightwatch is a fantastic local organisation which has been running since 1976. Each night of the year they provide food and other necessities to homeless people in Croydon, with up to 80 people receiving soup and sandwiches on some evenings.
The activities run in our office included a baby photo competition and cake sale. Many staff commented how good it was to be able to give back to the local community whilst enjoying the festivities.
We rounded off the week on Friday with a Christmas jumper competition, quiz and buffet lunch. We raised in excess of £300 which was gratefully received by Tony Packwood, Croydon Nightwatch’s Fundraising Officer. Tony reminded us that as no central funding is received, support from individuals and local businesses is vital.
We were delighted to be able to raise funds for Croydon Nightwatch and look forward to next year’s #UKCharityWeek.
