Funding for The Orpheus Centre
19 February 2018We recently supported The Orpheus Centre Trust in a bid to secure funds from Ecclesiastical’s ‘Closer To You’ programme.
The grant-making programme allows ‘select’ (partner) brokers to apply for funding on behalf of local charities. Ecclesiastical is wholly owned by a charity and is one of the largest corporate givers to charity in the UK.
When we heard about the programme we decided to support The Orpheus Centre, having worked with and supported them before. The Orpheus Centre is a specialist college in Surrey, focused on increasing the confidence and skills of young disabled adults, using performing arts and a wide range of other activities to achieve this aim.
After assessing our bid, Ecclesiastical agreed to provide £6,180 to help The Orpheus Centre as they continue on an ambitious plan to update and improve their facilities.
Simon Hickman, Access CEO and Tim Wiltshire, Senior Insurance Broker visited The Orpheus Centre recently to present a cheque and plaque to Moria Chaudhry, Head of Fundraising and Jack Betteridge, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser.
Simon commented: “We’ve had the privilege of supporting The Orpheus Centre in different ways over the last few years. They are doing great work with young disabled adults and we look forward to continuing to support them in the coming years.”
