Our company culture
10 March 2022Why is it important to have a culture? It’s more than just a perks scheme. Setting values enables an organisation to be more focused, people-centred and sustainable. Just as a company vision sets the direction, its values set the culture.
In 2019 we asked our people what they thought our culture should be, we asked “What values do you live by at home?”, “What values do you bring to work?” and “What values do you think our company should have?” This resulted in setting three distinct values for Access of being positive, honourable and reliable.
Positive – being able to excel in self-development, to achieve more in their role and remain optimistic when faced with challenges or under pressure.
Reliable – being dependable and dedicated, going the extra mile and taking on the challenge of supporting the team even in times of limited availability.
Honourable – always doing the right thing for clients and colleagues alike and supporting the team well, which reflects on Access’ external and internal image.
These are now embedded at the heart of Access, when working with clients, informing our internal processes and teams as well as in recruitment and appraisal. These values continue to be integrated within Access and embody Access’ commitment to its staff as well as our people’s commitment to Access.
